Omar Bradley one of the most respected and able men to be a general in the U.S. army, became a five star general and the first-ever chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was a man trusted to be in front of several commissions during the WW2 period. In 1938, Bradley was assigned to the War Department General Staff, in 1942; Bradley was promoted to major general and first given command of the Eighty-second Division, later of the Twenty-eighth (National Guard) Division, and Bradley got selected to command the U.S. First Army in Operation Overlord, Bradley was also the architect of Operation Cobra. Bradley commanded more troops than any general in American history. Dwight D. Eisenhower served 2 terms in office as the U.S. president (1953 – 1961). He was also a general in the WW2 before he was elected for president. He was the supreme commander of the Allied forces in Western Europe during World War II. During his presidency, Eisenhower managed the Cold War-era tensions; he also strengthened Social Security, he created the massive new Interstate Highway System.
