Foster care is a program/system that is run by the government. It allows substitute parents, known as foster parents to care for children who have been taken out of their homes. The foster care system in the United States is a serious placement system for children in difficult family situations. There are a number of reasons why children might be removed from their biological home. If the parents successfully completed the task, then they can regain custody of the child. The placement of a child is done through the government or a social-service agency, and the foster parent is compensated for expenses of the child. Sadly to say, many foster parents find themselves doing this job because of the money. The goal of foster care is reunification with the family, yet in many situations, the child might find his or her self in an adoption process (AACAP). Imagine you are five years old, and you realize that you are not loved or cared for by your parents. Picture yourself and how you would feel at being shipped off to other relatives that do not care for you either. This is an everyday life for a foster child. Foster care adoption involves the adoption of a child in one of the foster care system in one of the fifty states. There are many positive aspects of foster care adoptions. Some of the reasons are that you are providing a child a safe and loving environment for the child to experience. Not only that, the government has made laws and regulation to help foster kids once they age out of the system. The Foster Child Scholarship Program created a scholarship program that allows children who have been placed in foster care the option to tend a public and/or private schools (ALEC). The purpose of this program is to allow the child to have a chance to improve their
