The Frontier Era's Influence On The Twenty First Century

The Frontier era once had an impression on America, as explained by Laurence Shames in “The More Factor”. He states “The frontier, as reality and as a symbol, is what has shaped American way of doing things and the American sense of what’s worth doing.” I feel America has somewhat lost that drive of wanting more. I don’t believe that this continues to be an influence on the twenty first century. People in present day seem to be more focused on themselves than the frontier idea. In the video, “Pennsylvania Railroad “Opening a New Frontier” 1955 – American Trains”, shows peoples excitement and interest in something new that will help America grow. There does not seem to be that excitement in Americans now in the twenty first century. However
