‘The Glass Castle’ by Jeannette Walls is the quintessential dysfunctional family. In the book, Walls clearly sacrifice everything for each other through their dreadful times. This book is truly an inspirational book that will make a human realize, how much other people go through on a daily basis, and that they should be grateful for what they have. From the book, it’s faced with the question; how does facing challenges help us to mature and shape our identity? This question compels the book since it has multiple approaches to the book itself. Reading through the book, you’ll get to imagine the book through Jeannette Wall’s words, from her view of the story.
Throughout the book, Jeannette Walls and her siblings face tough, imaginable scenarios, yet they get through the tragic times and still have each other. In the book directed from, ‘Welch’ Chapter 3,(page 223, paragraph 4,) it states, “We’d take on extra work after school and put everything we earned into the piggy bank.
