When I think of a major character from The Grapes Of Wrath by John Steinbeck, I think of Ma Joad . She's kind, commanding, and unselfish. I picked her because she’s like the center of the family, always taking care of the members and trying to look out for them. I like that she shows emotion, or voices it. First, Ma joad was unselfish for many reasons. She shared food when there was extra, or tried to. For instance, in one of the hoovervilles they arrived to, she decided to make stew, and she gave some the her family then gave the rest to the kids that had gathered around.
