The American drama film Cinderella Man starring Russell Crowe playing James Braddock is based off of a true story. The movie shows the true life story of boxer James Braddock, nicknamed “Cinderella man.” The main characters of the movie are James, his wife Mae, and their family. The film takes place during the Great Depression in New Jersey and New York. James Braddock starts off as a rich and famous boxer. He had everything from a huge house, nice clothing, a family, and expensive jewelry. Until a few years pass by and the Great Depression begins. James has now lost everything and works as a longshoreman even with his broken hand to support his family. Sadly, it is not a daily job so he struggles a lot to support his family. One day his wife decides to send away the children to family members because they can not afford to have them. Until his former manager, Joe, offers him to fight for one night to earn some money.
