In the book The Great Gatsby, Daisy is quite a handful she is the love interest between two people. Tom and Gatsby who have to eventually have to fight for Daisy’s hand. Tom is Daisy’s husband but he does not love her and cheats on her. Daisy is a true blue. She is emotional and dependent on the other characters to help her along. Daisy is a true romantic, she likes to please, gets frustrated when there is disorder. ‘You know I love you’...” (pg 130) Daisy says as she says hello to Gatsby. Daisy is a true romantic. She fell in love with Gatsby when she saw him for the first time even though he was going away to the military. As he left the room again she got up and went over to Gatsby and pulled his face down, kissing him on the mouth. Loving Gatsby was the best and worst thing Daisy ever did. Daisy has always had eyes for Gatsby when he had to go away to the military she lost hope and had to get married to Tom who had money and was consistently there. “I called up Daisy half an hour after we found him, called her instinctively and without hesitation. But she and Tom had gone away early that afternoon, and taken baggage with them” (pg 179)In the end Daisy ends up picking Tom over Jay Gatsby because she wants to make Tom happy and her family happy.
