Success in life does not come easily. It is through hard work and perseverance that success is accomplished. However, it must always be achieved with a positive attitude. If a situation is approached with a negative outlook, then it is more likely to fail or disappoint. I agree with the statement that a positive attitude is the key to success because it yields great outcomes. A positive attitude makes it easier to accept defeat. Many times in life, humans fail. There is always someone "better". For example, when auditioning for a recent theater production, I did not receive the role I wished for. Having a positive attitude makes one more attractive to others. I do not mean physically attractive, but emotionally attractive. For example, in the novel the "Great Gatsby", the main character, Jay Gatsby, emotionally invests himself into Nick due to Nick's positive attitude and interest in Gatsby's life. Because Nick appears friendly and unselfish, Gatsby is able to share his secretive life endeavors and feelings with him. When others see that someone has a positive outlook, they assume that person is kind and trustworthy. This leads to having more close relationships and vast connections with others. In other words, a positive attitude causes one to have more networking opportunities due to their approachable demeanor. Being well liked and trusted can be linked to success in life because it provides more opportunities, therefore providing more chances to succeed. Lastly, a positive attitude leads to success by encouraging us to help others. For example, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai, used her brave story of being shot by the Taliban in order to bring awareness to the dangers her people face and to encourage reformation of education.
