University of Central Florida students and staff find hope for recovery on the canvas at the Healing Art Exhibition on Feb. 18.

The Healing Art Exhibition is an annual event hosted every spring by UCF Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) with the help of the School of Visual Arts and Design. Students and staff contributed artwork that decorate the halls of the Counseling Center. Though most of the Counseling Center is restricted to clients and staff during the day, guests were invited to tour the halls for one night only. Judges also gave awards to contributing artists.

The main goal of the Healing Art Exhibition is to promote mental well-being through artistic expression. A survey of the 2015 exhibition found that 80 percent of contributing
