The purpose of Pat Soloman’s Ted Talk was to explain what makes up a Hero’s Journey and how heroes relate to people. Soloman talks about how all heroes and heroines have the same journey. The hero starts out in their normal world doing what they usually do. Then they are separated, they move into another world. It's the start of their adventure. Next, the hero gets help, they train for whatever they need to stop or look for. Afterwards when they're ready they move forward and confront the villain. They somehow struggle to fight for their life. The hero then gets healed and conquers evil, or escapes just in time getting what they've been looking for. In the end the hero is a new person, they see things differently they are initiated. They return back home with whatever they've achieved. To sum it all up the Hero's Journey follow these three things separation, initiation, and return. One story that follows the Hero's Journey is The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy is on her farm living her everyday life. She then gets separated by a twister. She's in a new world, she meets the Good Witch of the North and gets told to follow the yellow brick road. Years ago he was in a village, he thought it was horrible. After his parents died, he decided that he should leave and follow his bliss which is film making. Something he wanted to achieve was to create a film about A Hero's Journey. When he got out of the village he met people, had struggles, and miracles. At times he wanted to quit and give up, by he eventually got the film done and succeeded. He returned back to his village and shared his film. Soloman may have not saved the world, or saved the people from evil, but he went into the unknown and conquered his fears. He is his own
