The Hijras: An Alternative Gender In American Culture

How gender is defined in the American culture is having two man categories that are male or female. The categories can be kept the same way that they were given a birth which is your sex. Some people in American or my society sometime do not feel happy inside the sex that was given at birth, and find ways to transform themselves into the opposing sex than what they were originally. These people are known as transgender or what we call them in my neighborhood known a Dukes. Most people are pretty accepting of people gender they want to seem like and claim they are, but still there are people out in America with different morals and ethics on what is right and socially acceptable and what is not.
