Another characters I want to share is Hector (THB) Bartleby (A). Both of them have a passion on education. First talk about Hector. In the story, he never cares the exam. He just tells the boys enjoy literature and knowledge in the green year. “And what happens after the exam? Life goes on. Gobbets!” Alan, B. 2004. The History Boys p.49. UK: National Theatre.). About Bartleby, he is a smart boy but not outstanding in study. By the way he has cordial on education. He said that in the count: “Who cares about your approval? He is weak, homosexual, ordinary. In school, no one really understands him. “ I am Jew. I’m homosexual. And I live in Sheffield. I’m f***ed.” (Alan, B. 2004. The History Boys p.42. UK: National Theatre.) He loves Dakin but Dakin not. Moreover, Dakin know the relationship game. He never rejects Posner. In one part of story, Dakin talks he had sex with Fiona while Posner is next to him. It is so bitterness. Posner not brave enough to pursuit of his love. He can only sing love songs in class to express his feeling. Same with Hector, he is a gay too. That’s maybe a reason why Hector and Posner are closer. They can feel the same way, same pain. Actually, they are the “lower class” in school. Careless, be ignore, always
