The Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkien, a story of an adventure taken by Bilbo Baggins, sheds light on how one grand trip changes the view of a simple hobbit. Some adventures, even if unexpected or not ideal, change your perspective on life. One winter, a trip to an arena to see the basketball team, the Miami Heat, did just that. In December, on a cold day, we journeyed to Charlotte, NC to see what I thought was a simple basketball game, yet it became more, as I saw one of the greatest players ever, play the game I love. The players, warming up, running back and forth randomly, getting ready for the challenges they would face as they played another big game. In seconds, I spotted one of the greatest players in history, Lebron James, slowly taking shots and maneuvering through the other players. I watched, mesmerized by every aspect from the court to the lights, and the excitement that surrounded in the arena. It wasn’t long before the game began, the loud buzzer sounded and I watched players run up and down the court, making points, dunking balls, and coming together to execute plays that each team hoped would bring victory. The score changed by the second; the excitement is something hard to replicate. I waited for a famous Lebron shot, and as he set up to shoot, I could feel something almost grab me from inside. I felt almost as if I was connected to the team; a direct line from something inside to the players. I was mesmerized by every move that transpired and right then, I knew, I had to keep playing basketball. I could see the passion from the players and I knew when I ran the court, I felt the same
