As great words spoken by Bonnie Blair “It’s sad to know I’m done. But looking back, I’ve got a lot of great memories.” That is how I look at high school. My adventure consist of all different types of memories good and bad. Each moment spent with people that I may know nothing about now which I once knew every detail. High school taught me two things firstly that people will come and go secondly to cherish the moments.
The book The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros tells the story of a girl and her desire to escape her run down segregated neighborhood but after going through disasters she realizes that all along she needed to cherish the moments and use them to better her future and change the world. Just like the girl I took a step back and glanced into the past and realized that these moments have molded me into who I am today and who I plan to be in the future.

That best friend that I once would do anything for, I now know nothing about except for what I hear. In the moment of losing this friend it felt like the worst thing ever almost the end of the world and standing here today in front of you I can say that this lost was an eye opener. From constantly relying on someone to comfort in harsh times or being able to share the important events with I became lonely. The laughs and tears shared together will be cherished and remembered as growth in becoming independent.
In a poem by Joyce Hemsley she states “We are here on this earth for only a moment Our lives are but clouds that quickly drift by” our lives will speed by making the memories seem like a blink of an eye. She gives a reason on why our memories we have hold such a high value and how the ones in the future will be
