I’m not here to say America is the number one greatest country in the world to live in. It is not the greatest country to live in anymore. It used to be. It is one of the best but not the best. In my opinion, there are lots of reasons as to why people would choose to live in America, but many of those reasons can live in someplace else other than America. America used to be the single greatest country in the world. People cared for each other more. All people want nowadays is what’s better for them personally and not what’s good for the benefit of the country as a whole. We stood for what was right; we passed laws for moral reasons, not just to make us feel better. As citizens, we sacrificed; we took a little suffering because we knew in the end it would benefit the country. Now when someone suffers a little bit, they quit and whine that they didn’t get it their way. We used to be way past any other country in technology. We invented things like the lightbulb by Thomas Edison and the flying machine by the Wright Brothers. We even got to the moon first. Now so many countries have easily caught up to us over the years. In America we do have freedom, we are free to be whatever we want if we put our minds to it, free to pay for what we want and free to property rights. But so are many other countries. According to the 2015 Index of Economic Freedom, there are 11 countries that have more freedom than us; out of the 178 countries recorded 152 are considered to have a lot of freedom. There are many stats that explain how America isn’t the best at anything. We are 7th in literacy, 27th in Math and 22nd in science. We are 3rd in median house income, 3rd in oil production and 10th in economic freedom. Lastly we are 49th in life expectancy, 11th in “happiness” and 3rd in “liking” the United States. That means that there are other countries that like us better than we
