On April 20, 1999, two teens went on a shooting spree at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, killing 13 people and wounding more than 20 others. On December 14, 2012, 20-year-old man killed 26 people, 20 of them children, in an attack on Sandy Hook Elementary in central Connecticut. The numbers of mass shootings in America are only on the increase. The time has come to be proactive. To prevent people from coming into schools and committing the act of mass murder, we need to allow the helpless kids in these schools help themselves. We need to give the children guns.
Needlessly to say, simply providing a bunch of young students with firearms is a bad idea. Naturally, they will need training. In school generally, it is impossible to
