California is a state filled with endless opportunities for many immigrants. Roughly around 15 years ago, my grandparents decided to move to California when I was about 4 years old. Owing to the fact of the war in Iraq and the ruinous environment in which we lived, my parents had no choice, but to move to California and pursue a better life for our family. I have been living in dull, yet very extravagant place region called Orange county with the ravishing beaches, to the exhilarating amusement parks, and prodigious mountains. I will be forever grateful living here for over a decade, but as many natives certainly take this state for granted. Richard Rodriguez, a native, and writer of “The Dragon in the Dream Factory—the Native born.”, believes a native Californian is someone who is fearful of change and complains a substantial amount. According to Richard Rodriguez, as he speaks for all natives in California that “ we are in imposition on California” (2). Revealing each individual as the opportunity to speak out and have say in changes throughout the state because of the rights they obtain. Most natives do not have the desire of having immigrants continuously migrating into California. With the frustration seen by the natives, Richard Rodriguez developed a proposal stating that “ there should be a limit to California. Every family in this state should be allowed no more than three generations”. As speaking for most natives, he believes that California is becoming extremely overcrowded with the greater amount of newcomers coming in. Most natives are deliberately older, on average than natives as it comes to age, so this goes to show that newcomers will have future as they look to “re-invent history” (
