Seven hours on a small charter bus to venture to a place I've never been before, and to work with people I have never met, is not very far from frightening.This past summer I traveled from Fort Pierce Florida to Charleston, North Carolina primarily to serve the less fortunate through the Youth On A Mission organization. I gained a completely new perspective on how families struggling with poverty get through their daily lives. One of the things that astounded me the most was how much these families help each other. Those with the least seemed to offer the greatest amount of time and labor. If those with so little could offer so much, what more could I be doing? This is the question that I brought home with me.
