In African households, the use of wood is the primary energy source. Women in rural areas walk every day several kilometres to collect firewood for their daily needs. Besides that, they also spend a significant share of daily budget on firewood and get them to work hard to support their families. Based on research done by Hilde (2009) the availability of wood is decreasing and deforestation is a major ecological problem in Africa and overexploitation of forest resources leads to a decline in African forest surface. This situation is worrying because the African annual rate loss of forest in 1990-2000 is 0.64% per year and it is about 4375 million ha per year and now alarming rate of loss is significantly reduced, but even still a high loss …show more content…
This renewable energy cannot be run out and it constantly renewed years by years. Nowadays, many renewable energy are use in our life style as a new technologies such as solar power from sunlight, wind power from wind and turbine power from geothermal. Fossil fuel is not a renewable energy because it can be run out one day and because of that this energy must use wisely. Besides that, this unrenewable energy also more expensive between the renewable energy because this source is very difficult to …show more content…
Solar radiation can come in many forms, like radio waves, visible light, heat (infrared), x-rays, and ultraviolet rays. Solar radiation is easy to measure when it is higher on clear, sunny day and usually low on cloudy days. Besides, solar radiation is measured at zero when the sun is down or there are heavy clouds blocking the sun. The solar irradiance on a clear day is given by 1000W m^(-2). Solar is the one of the renewable energy that get during the day and it might seem an ideal energy source, as it is free and virtually limitless. Based on research done by Souvik et al (2016) the solar radiation reaching the earth’s surface in one year provides more than 10,000 times the world’s yearly energy needs. Solar is the importance energy to earth because it gives many benefits to our environment such as plant requires solar energy to produce oxygen, prepare food and photosynthesis.
The solar irradiance is called the solar constant before it hit the atmosphere and when as it goes through the atmosphere, it divided into several components before received by the solar array. There are three main components which are direct, diffuse and reflected and the summation of the components is known as the global irradiance. Based on research done by Salsabila Ahmad et al (2013), 85-90% of the sun rays are mostly direct irradiance during a clear and sunny
