Our country is protected by the most hardworking people among us, our

soldiers. They leave the comfort of their own home. They spend months and even

years to fight for our country. On November 11th we celebrate our US veterans.

Veterans are those who already served in the country.

Veterans Day wasn’t always specifically for honoring out US veterans. It

used to be proclaimed “Armistice Day“. This originally honored the end of the

World War 1. This was first legally celebrated in 1918. Naming it Armistice

because they thought this war ended all wars.

In later years, after World War 2 ended. With approval of legislation. The

proclaimed “Armistice Day” was charged to “Veterans Day”. The reason for

change was to honor all veterans
