Martin Luther King Jr, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of the their character.” Throughout the history of America, people were judged about their ethnicity, color skin, etc, but what happens nowadays is that we encourage the diversity and being different from others. Many things are helping America grow and become more diverse such as people not being afraid to express themselves freely and by the voting accessibility to all Americans.

In the past, Americans were very similar and didn’t have many differences between each other. Now though, Americans are expressing themselves without any regret or judgement from others. In source 2, the passage says, “What it means to be American in spirit, in blood- is something far more borrowed and commingled than anything previous generation ever knew.” The quote is explaining how we as Americans now is something so different from the past due to the way we are able to express ourselves freely and in almost limitless ways.
