Have you ever wondered what life would be like if women didn’t play sports? What if you lived before the law of Title IX was passed? Before the law, many women faced discrimination relating to sports until Title IX was passed and America was changed forever. Title IX changed many people’s lives and aspects of sports but some people still disagreed. Throughout time, Title IX has impacted women and sports. Title IX took place in the seventies but was also a very important time in American history. In the book Let me Play- The story of Title IX by Karen Blumenthal there is a lot to learn about how far women's sports have come(Blumenthal 1). For example this law is so important because for some women who lived while there was discrimination and no law, they can see the difference and are thankful for what it has become.Finally, there should have never been discrimination but there was no way around it and the worst is over now.
