JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963. This event was broadcasted on live television. The assassination of the president and the media coverage was a huge deal. It was a big deal because everyone loved this president. During this time live television was very new. There were only 4 channels. This was the first major catastrophe to happen on live TV.
