In the Hero's Journey, the great Odysseus, feels tempted and prideful in many different ways. In the hero's journey, Odysseus shapes his own journey throughout the short novel. We all love classic journeys but Odysseus Journey of his separation, his initiation,and his return home is unique.In modern day heroes journey, their seperaton, initiation, and return home is not as unique as Odysseus’. Modern day heroes, such as Captain America, did not go threw as much punishment like Odysseus has. Like the Great Odysseus, I have character flaws also. The character flaws that Odysseus and I both encounter are pride, reckless, and disrespectful. We both have went through many obstacles throughout our journeys.
In the Journey of Odysseus, like me, he also came upon many different challenges. I have had many different obstacles but this one was a turning point in my life. In my journey, I got injured and have struggled many times. I once got injured with two broken collar bones, when I was around three years old. I was pushed by my cousin off my aunt’s bed in ireland. My parents, did not know what happened to me or why I was in so much pain. There were not many good children hospitals in Ireland, but my parents had to work around this obstacle. This is relatable to my story because in Odysseus journey home, he was punished by Poseidon for stabbing his son, Cyclops, in the eye. This relates to my journey of two broken collar bones, because both me and Odysseus took a beating. Since I was making fun of my cousin, I was punished with two broken collar bones.
