The Kite Runner by Khalad Hosseini is a riveting novel which chronicles the betrayed and redemption of its protagonist Amir. More over the novel is about the relationship of Amir and his friend Hassan. There are many external conflicts seen thought the novel some which are Hassan and Amir, Hassan and the three bullies, and Amir and Baba, All conflicts affect the way one acts afterwards. One conflict that occurs in the novel is one between Amir and Baba, this conflict influence how Baba treats Amir. After the incident in the alley with the three bullies Hassan wasn’t his usual self he was more to himself. “Lately is seems all he wants to do is sleep” (Hossaini81). Now Amir doesn’t see Hassan as much because Hassan just wants to sleep, Amir and Hassan no longer play together. Hassan didn’t want to play or do anything but his chores and then go to sleep. In addition to those conflicts there’s also a conflict that permanently changes their friendship for good. Amir and Hassan had a conflict that really upset Hassan and he no longer tried to reconcile their friendship. “Then Hassan did pick up a pomegranate… he turned around and started down the hill.” After Amir and Hassan had the conflict on the hill Hassan no longer tried to reach out to Amir and be friends. Amir had upset Hassan by throwing pomegranates at him and Hassan had finally had enough. In conclusion to the many external conflicts seen between Hassan and Amir, Hassan and the three bullies, and Amir and Baba each conflict influenced the way one acted afterwards.
