Kabul, Afghanistan, because of its remote location, is not thought of as a great place to live. Instead, it has a satisfying, warm atmosphere settled by pleasant people with a unique culture. For instances, in “The Kite Runner”, the story of Amir, an upper class, Sunni Muslim, who struggles to find his place in the world because of the aftereffects and fallout from a series of traumatic childhood events and later finds himself “unwanted” in his family as a result of his best friend, Hassan, from Amir’s point of view who takes the attention from him. Jealousy is a dangerous emotion which cause very inferior results which in a way, very subjective. Jealousy evokes when a person wants something that another person has or if he want to be like somebody else. If the person who feels jealous cannot control his emotions, it can lead to extreme actions to himself or to others. From first of all humanity, jealousy was a very familiar deed. For example, in one of the first chapters of the Bible (Old Testament, Genesis, Chapter 4), is about two brothers, Cain and Abel, which a sibling rivalry existed between them. Cain was a farmer and Abel was a shepherd, and each one of them made a sacrifice to God. God excepted only Abel’s sacrifice, Cain was jealous of Abel. The jealousy between them was so bad which made Cain murder his own brother. In the Kite runner, Amir was jealous of Hassan without knowing that he was his brother, his best friend which grew up with him in the same house. The bad jealousy made Amir act the way he did and later caused Hassan and his father to leave. The moral from this story is that a person with a stronger personality would need to control his jealousy and know how to deal with this emotions. Amir acted in an unreliable way which hurt and negatively influenced Hassan’s life. In the novel, Hassan was accused as a “thief” and was forced to leave the only place he knew and loved from his birth and had to begin a very new and hard life until his death. From this inferior act, we collect that human beings always need to think of their influences on others, and consider whether the way they act is the right way. Sometimes you would possibly achieve your goals, but if you hurt another human being through your way, your guilty feelings would be worse than your
