Achilles the legendary Greek warrior, and his story of rise and fall by Homer. At the start of this story I notice it is one of very few where the hero of the story has a sense of invulnerable power which leads him to his demise. The start of Achilles power struggle begins with the irresistible desire of his mother (Thetis) to grant Achilles with Immortality. The child Achilles is given this power on one of two obsessive attempts, the first Thetis commited a sacrificial ceremony to Burn Achilles mortal flesh off to keep an immortal body that would be left behind as a result of her anointing Ambrosia upon Achilles body, but instead of the finishing of the ceremony, Peleus father of Achilles interrupted and Thetis was not seen again, after this Peleus sent Achilles away to the Centaur Chiron to become educated. The following day Patroclus was killed and stripped of the armor by the Trojan hero Hector who mistook him for Achilles. Overwhelmed by rage and grief Achilles received new armor from his mother and returned to fighting to kill Hector. At Hectors final face off with Achilles, dead in front of the wall of Troy, Achilles slays Hector with what seemed like taunting play rather than even a slight match for the semi-devine god. After Achilles victory he proceeded to drag Hectors lifeless corpse on the rear of the chariot, without returning the body Achilles is pleeded to by the king of Troy (Priam) and Hectors father to give Burial rights. Finally relenting Achilles graciously allows for Priam to leave with the body but reiterated by Achilles several times that the next day they would still be
