The life of a Television Producer Some aspire to become a doctor; some, a painter. Some want to be an engineer. Another, a scientist. Since I was eight years old, moving pictures always inspired me. The curiosity of how each picture is captured and made extravagant was always inspiring to me. Since I was eight years old, I have always wanted to be a Television Producer. I have always wanted to create my own show, with moving pictures that inspires million more people like me but not soon did I learn that being a producer comes with drawbacks. It takes a big deal for the television stations to accept a Tv show as each program has to examined for quality and content. Now, the broadcasting standards are set very high. Most television shows go by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) standards as they lay out the basics for high quality video production. “Broadcast quality is a term that has come to mean rigid, technical standards in equipment, materials produced, and persons licensed by the FCC” (Baker 36). Perfection of quality and content is very expensive. “Broadcasters must own and operate stations, transmitters, towers, production facilities, and meet payrolls for a great number of employees” (Baker 37). In order to strive for perfection of quality and content, producers spend sleepless nights trying to make their show the best. “Television producers report high excitement and job satisfaction-these are implementors and problem-solvers who are
