Merriam-Webster defines simple goodness as, “the quality or state of being good” (Goodness, Merriam-Webster). It is a wonderful entity to spread goodness to all around us. As good Catholics like us, we know that there are many people out there that do need some goodness in their lives. Nevertheless, how would someone measure goodness to somebody? We can work on this by doing small things to people and working our way up to even greater things. We can spread the goodness of our Faith to anyway who will listen. However, goodness can be found anywhere, from even the smallest ideas, books, gestures, to the biggest of them all, which is of course the Catholic Church. On her fifteenth birthday, she is allowed to come to the surface and witnesses a party on a ship. When fire erupts on the ship, the people are forced to abandon and the little mermaid rescues the prince and brings him to shore. When the mermaid realizes that she is in love with the Prince, she goes to the sea witch and the witch gives her a potion that removes her tail and is replaced with human legs. But before she receives the potion she must give up her voice and the witch warns her that if she cannot marry the prince she will die and live not the lifespan of three hundred years. When she arrives at the castle, the prince has no interest with the mermaid because she cannot speak but instead he already found himself a wife and the mermaid loses her life and becomes a spirit daughter of the air with an immortal soul. Goodness mainly comes from the little mermaid. When she cannot communicate with the prince, he has no desire for her he finds himself a wife, and they wed. The little mermaid does not interfere but lets the prince be happy and she suffers out of
