The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor, is a story very different from the traditional Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Instead of Alice going into Wonderland, Alyss goes out of Wonderland. Alyss was a to-be queen of the Queendom, Heart Palace, until her evil aunt Redd overtakes it on her birthday. Alyss and Hatter are forced to evacuate and escape to the pool of tears, where they are separated and transported to a different world. There is a very apparent and major theme, good vs evil, these moments are usually bad, and can lead to worse but they have to happen, it is seen all throughout the book, like in The Battle of Heart Palace, when Alyss steals from the butcher, and when Alyss fights Red. All throughout the book, we see a popular theme, good vs. evil, one instance is the battle of heart palace. “‘let her go, Redd.’ it was Genevieve.”(63) for instance this shows …show more content…
evil is when Alyss fights Redd. “but when she looked back, a large orb was coming toward her. She conjured one of her own and the two orbs collided.” this is a good physical representation of good vs. evil, because the good and bad are directly fighting and this is for the future of wonderland. “Whatever you’re seeing,it's a construct! it isn’t real!” sometimes even the bad get the upper hand. Redd was able to get a good time to trick Alyss and almost win. Alyss eventually won and wonderland was returned to its original state.

Good vs. Evil, is a very big theme in the book, as you can see with the Battle of Heart Palace, when they steal from the book, and when Alyss fights Redd. Good vs. Evil is very apparent in the Battle of Heart palace, Redd is attacking the people of white imagination inside Heart Palace. You can also see it when Alyss turns to the bad side, and she gets caught. Also when Alyss fights Redd at the end of the book to regain Wonderland. As you can see, the worst, and most violent moments are when Good vs. Evil clash and it can change things
