In both “The Most Dangerous Game” and “The Hunger Games” the two protagonists are very similar even though their stories may be different. Rainsford and Katniss are both brave, intelligent, and skillful. In the story “The Most Dangerous Game” Rainsford the protagonist is brave on many occasions but the most noticeable is on page 57 “Then he leaped far out into the sea” This is Rainsford jumping off a cliff to save his life from the antagonists dogs, General Zaroff. Rainsford is also intelligent in his hunting tracking and trapping. “Not many men know how to make a Malay man catcher” (Connell 54) this is a quote from “The Most Dangerous Game” where Rainsford knows of a rare trap which shows his intelligence in traps, he lays more traps which kill General Zaroff’s dog and his friend Ivan. Finally Rainsford is a skillful person because he knows how to hunt and track. …show more content…
The reaping is a gathering where children from age 12 to 18 are picked to go to the hunger games. Katniss volunteered herself for her sister and took her place in the hunger games. This shows that Katniss will do anything for her sister which is very brave. Katniss can also be described as a intelligent person because she knew exactly what to do with every situation she was put in such as destroying the food and the Tracker Jackers. Finally, Katniss is a skillful person because of her skill with a bow and making traps. In “The Hunger Games” Katniss is able to hit an apple in the mouth of a pig surrounded by people, she also is able to hit Cato’s hand when he was choking Peeta. She also was able to get food with the traps she made and was even identified by the traps she made. This shows Katniss’s skill with a bow and trap making. Katniss’s experiences in “The Hunger Games” and Rainsford’s experiences in “The Most Dangerous Game” show that both their stories are different but they are both brave, Intelligent, and skillful
