While watching Disney’s movie, Hercules, Hercules goes through a series of events called the Hero’s Journey. Disney is very prone to creating their movies with the easily an identifiable path. The journey includes 8 simple steps: the ordinary world, the call to adventure, refusal/accepting the call, entering the unknown, supernatural aids, tests & the supreme ordeal, rewards & the journey home, and the last step of, master of two worlds/restoring the world. While viewing Disney’s adaptation, it starts off telling the story of how Hercules came to be living in the ordinary world. Hercules was poisoned as a child, by Hades, which is the reason why he had fell to the mortal life. While living in the mortal world everyone views Hercules as a clown. He is ginormous and seems to be very clumsy because he doesn't know how to properly handle his super strength. …show more content…
Instead he jumps into situation with excitement and goes off with Pegasus to find Philatelies to begin his journey. While going through his trials, Hercules is thrown a little obstacle. He finds a maiden in distress who quickly becomes Hercules craving. Meg is suppose to be Hercules’ distraction sent by Hades, but later becomes much more. Due to his acquaintance with Meg this becomes a world of unknown for Hercules because he has never experienced affection for another human being. Throughout the story Hercules is given two sources of aid. His first helper is Pegasus. Pegasus was given to him by his father to help him get around and to find Philatelies. Once the two found him Philatelies becomes Hercules’ second source of aid. Philatelies more of his trainer and puts Hercules through a series of trials to prepare him to fight off large beasts. Pegasus seems to be there more for support and to make Hercules feel more at home throughout the
