The movie doesn't accurately depicts the story because Perseus isn't the same hero. The goal for him is to save his mom and in the movie to save argos from destruction. In both ways it shows the challenges he has to take in order to kill Medusa and complete his target. Challenges are difficult task that a person confront in order to complete his major accomplishment. Also, the movie is inaccurate representation of the true story because there's many characters not mentioned in the story.
In the movie Hades is the antagonist to the other gods as well as humankind. He seeks to usurp Zeus, dresses in all black, and is pretty much Voldemort with a beard. Perseus love interest is Io, a women who resisted a god’s advances and was cursed with immortality.
