Inside a deep cave in Romania, white eyeless spiders, scorpions, worms and centipedes feed on a thick floating mat of bacteria and scuttle around in the darkness. These bugs have been sealed off from the outside world for about 5.5 million years and over time they have developed an ecosystem of their own.
