Necessity of Hunting
In American culture hunting has always been a way of life. The Indians and our predecessors hunted to survive. In today’s society it is more a thirst for blood, than a way of life. What most people don't realize is that without it, the increasing population of deer and other animals could be extremely harmful to the environment and especially dangerous to motorist. People should also understand that without hunting, animal populations are in danger. Hunting is not unnessceraily bad for the environment and can help reduce wrecks, sustaining animal populations, and help farmers with their crops.
Animal overpopulation in some areas have destroyed nature. In some areas where overpopulation has taken place, food is becoming scarce and animals have started to eat plants that are endangered and other vegetation that they normally would not eat. In the U.S. alone, Out of the 6.2 million reported accidents in 2013, 1 million of those accidents involved deer. Deer vehicle collisions lead to over 200 human deaths and $1.1 billion in property damage every year. State and federal governments, insurance companies, and drivers spend an addition $3 billion in an effort to reduce and manage the increasing number of deer-vehicle collisions. The accidents are more frequent and occur more often during the rut which is in November. The rut is the deer mating season and deer can be found all over the place in neighborhoods, main highways, around schools, and basically just about anywhere a deer can possibly get. During this time motorist should take serious caution while driving because a deer could show up anywhere at any time of the day.
