In most Disney stories there is always a hero, these heroes don’t just become heroes out of nowhere. There is a series of events that this hero must go through so that they can become an official hero, they just don’t wake up one day and decide that they are a hero. This journey that they must take is called “the Hero’s Journey” very creative right? It is because of this journey that they that make we are able to analyze their actions and classify them as heroes. In the book “The Odyssey” the hero in this story Odysseus goes through a series of events that shape who he becomes at the end and why we call him a hero.

The antagonist of the story Poseidon, the god of the sea, he despises Odysseus for blinding his son, the cyclop Polyphemus, and he constantly throws obstacles at Odysseus so that he never returns home. One significant event that happens in the story that teaches Odysseus a valuable lesson is being stuck in Calypso’s island it is here that he realizes how much he loves and misses his wife. One of the last steps that Odysseus goes through in his journey is, after being gone for 20 years he comes back to Ithaca and he has to fight Penelope’s suitors to get his wife back. After disguising himself, winning tasks that Penelope set up knowing only he could do them and killing all of her suitors Odysseus finally gets his wife back.
