In the Edeka commercial the old man is the protagonist. He looks old he might be 70-80 years old the old man also lives alone just like most of old people that are abandoned by their own sons. The old man lives in a small house he always looks tired his hair is white of how old he is never smiles he misses his sons and daughters but they never visit him it also looks like he might be depressed and sad. This makes the audience feel sadness and compassion for him.
The conflict is that his family does not visits him, they are too busy to visit him and make sure everything is okay they don’t actually call him they just live a voicemail. Some evidence of this is when in the Edeka commercial we can clearly see him listening to one of the voicemails
