When it comes to having a new leader for a country or a certain group of people the leader must be able to listen to others. In “The Prince,” by Machiavelli he expresses his thought about what future qualities a prince should have before leading his people. It is important to possess these traits because it is a huge responsibility to make sure that promises are fulfilled and kept. Many people rely on a prince to guide people in the right direction. Being a leader is a huge responsibility and requires fifty percent effort from the leader and fifty percent of the people. Having a country run on a system where half of the people have a say will allow the people to be more open-minded about topics. A prince must be able to convince his people to trust him so that tasks can be done. So that is why the prince need to make his people dependent on him. It is necessary to have others dependent on a leader because everyone needs to work with each other and cooperate. Being a leader means to make choices best for others.
