The Progressive Era changed the face of America and impacted today's society by addressing the issues created during the Gilded Age. Women being treated similar to cattle and pushed aside as unimportant and unable to partake in government was a difficulty faced. Laborers were also subject to maltreatment from their bosses. Further more, the food production and meat industry became exponentially more improved because of exposure to the disgusting habits of the industry. Not only that but also people living in poverty had no where to live a joyful life.

Efforts made by Susan B. Anthony in particular and other leaders of the women's suffrage movement led to women gaining the right to vote. Ratification of the 19th amendment granted women the ability to become full participants in American political life. This not only ended to suffering the ladies endured for equality in political life, but as well as in life in general. This was the primary source and beginning of women in today's society trying to show that women can't do what men can do. Women strive to show the they also have the ability to run corporate businesses, be a breadwinner for the family, or even run a country. Still in this present time, there is sexism present that is an obstacle for women to showcase all they've got to prove, but this does not halt their efforts in gaining women equality.
