Life is full of conflicts and situations that can be small, but at the same time could be drastic. Although we may not be able to find a resolution to some problems, one major “problem-solver” would be Physician-Assisted Suicide. Millions of people from around the world suffer from various diseases and disabilities that can take away the enjoyment of everyday life. When a patient is informed that there is no other remedy to treat their problem because of their budget or time left, Assisted Suicide becomes an available option. Many physicians believe that Assisted Suicide goes against the role of themselves, and also think that the decision should be up to them and not the patient because of the patients not knowing the aftermath of the act as well as if they have the opportunity to live or not. …show more content…
They practice what is called the “Art of Healing”, and believe that Assisted Suicide goes against the entire point of what the physicians have to offer (Physician-Assisted Suicide). Many people overlook the fact of them being able to live without agony when dealing with all of the pain. Patients are taken to what is called Hospice care, where the patients’ families are also taken care of to cope with the death of their loved ones (Walker 18). This is why it should be up to the physicians, because of the patients not knowing the repercussions of them passing away. Besides having overall physical, and or mental problems, there are other reasons why someone might consider Assisted Suicide. Financial problems, lack of social life, and depression are other reasons why someone might not want to live anymore. Similar to what was said about the patients’ families, the patients are acting without thinking and would not so much regret their decision but more or less pass away without knowing if they could solve their problems or
