Did you know the first targeted drone strike by the United States occurred on Feb. 4, 2002 in Afghanistan when a CIA Predator drone fired on a group they believed included Osama bin Laden. The targets, all killed, were civilians gathering scrap metal.Obama has signed over 400 drones to attack foreign countries over in the middle east to attack terrorist or suspected terrorist. That number has significantly raised since 2002 when Bush was president. Drones are becoming something used for everyday war. They are unmanned aircraft so no one is actually flying the drone so they do not have to risk getting shot down by foreign countries. Drones are unjust because they attack where the target and and risk killing innocent people. There is a same chance killing a civilian as there is as killing as there is killing a highly touted target. (Shackford, Scott 1). According to Research from the article Death from Above ¨drones are 10x more likely to kill a civilian then in a man controlled aircraft¨. (1). The people who control the drones track the targets because of their cell phone. They could have left their phone somewhere with civilians, if they catch on they are just gonna plant their phone somewhere with a bunch of innocent people. Drone pilots do not see what they are shooting at so they do not have that good of judgment. If the target is inside the building they do not know if he is actually in there or he is not which gives it a risk of killing innocent civilians. This is an obvious risk but civilians could be around the target just having a conversation or having to deal with a problem with that target and they get killed for just being with them even though they did nothing.
