Fracking is when you are drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water blend is aimed at the rock to release the gas inside. Water, sand and chemicals are infused into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to stream out to the head of the well. The procedure is most commonly done by drilling the stone layer which can make new pathways to release gas but it can also be used to develop existing channels. The term fracking shows how the rock is fractured apart by the high pressure blend.

When it comes to new development and more advanced technology there is always going to be an ongoing debate and an ongoing research on whether new technology is harmful or beneficial or dangerous for us, same goes for when it comes to our surroundings, finance and advantages that comes with them. …show more content…
For example, fracking uses large amounts of water which then must be transported to the fracking site which takes a toll on the environment. Some environmentalists say that the dangerous chemicals that are being used could escape and pollute the groundwater around the site. Some would also argue that there are worries that the fracking process could cause small earth tremors.

Some activists might say that if we are depending on fossil fuels and have found a way to rely on them longer then they are going to stop their research when it comes to alternative and cleaner energy sources.
