This topic on weather popular demand should have a major role in the process of making laws about gun control restrictions is tricky. When we look back in history popular demand was not always right because humans are emotional creatures and we do not look at facts, we listen to what our peers are saying and make decisions off of them. A good example of this is the medias power over the populace; most people look at the news and excepts it at face value. The people will believe in anything that is on the television and usually don’t look into it any further. When it comes to the debate on whether or not gun control should be increase, there are both sides and most of them will not change their minds, even if you give them compelling evidence for the opposite side. The main reason is because the companies and newspapers that are in charge of these polls have a political agenda. Just like we saw in the elections, almost every polling was wrong because it is not a science it is a guess. The second reason is that there are a lot of polling’s on this topic and each one says something different. You can find polling’s going either way and a lot of them say it is by a land slide. I could walk around campus and ask people what their opinion is on gun control and take out the ones that I didn’t like in order to make the report come out in my favor; that what a lot of polls do. In conclusion, I am a strong believer in American rights and that the government should stay out of most things, but this is not one of them the people do not know what they are talking about and the government should have an idea on statistical data about gun violence. In this type of situation the American government should go with the data and not the
