By issuing an executive order for Mexican Americans to be put in internment camps, regardless if they have been accused of crime is not considered faithful to the Preamble to the Constitution which states that we will ‘form a more perfect union’. This will not provide us with equality as Mexican Americans by taking away our liberty and will not provide them justice under the Constitution. Our well-being would not be taken care of since we would be placed in the internment camps. This would be considered an unjust law to our race and culture. Even though the President might become exasperated with Mexican Americans, I doubt that he will pass an executive order to require us to be placed in internment camps. Even though United State is supposed to be considered a Republic where our rights and freedom should be conserved, Congress may derive new ideas that can be twisted and changed. The Constitution is considered to be elastic meaning certain phrases can appear to be stretched to support certain causes for our nation. Our constitution states that everyone deserves a fair trial; therefore, if our nation’s security was in jeopardy, Muslim or Mexican Americans should still be entitled to a due process law which will guarantee their human rights to be respected. The loss of citizenship was one of the major issues discussed in this trial and if President Trump were to order Muslim or Mexican American to be put into internment camps, he would take away their 1st Amendment rights.
