Immigrants endured several conditions when coming to the United States such as injustices, dangers, and hardships. They also experienced some positive and negative aspects of migration. Immigrants arrived from around the world, worried about the dynamic economy. sought a better life; therefore, they came here because of religious separation, political oppression, and hardships at home which contain an absence of financial open door.
Newcomers went through dangerous situations while coming to the United States. For example, in Sadie's story she explains the danger of coming on a steamship with a hundred of people on the ship and almost half being ill. Immigrants not only experienced dangerous situations, but also endured many hard hardships.
Immigrants went through several hardships while migrating to the United States. They were ideal recruits for American industry because they worked the hard-working jobs, yet still didn’t get paid enough. The positive aspect though was that some immigrants carried skills with them depending on what class they came from.
