Oil Fracking Argument Essay
Fracking is a bad thing. Fracking is a bad thing because it is harmful to the environment and it is also very harmful to communities.
To begin, fracking chemicals are not safe. According to the article Fracking fuels energy debate, tons and tons of the chemicals that the companies use to get the oil are actually not safe. In the article Fracking Fuels Energy Debate it states, “At least 3 in every 4 chemicals they examined could affect breathing systems, the gut and sensory organs, including the skin and eyes.” (Gies, Fox 38). This shows how fracking fuels are not safe because according to this article about 75% of the chemicals used can hurt people. This also shows that since so many of these chemicals are harmful, it is not very safe for them to be around the community and the environment around them because they can hurt wildlife such as plants and animals and even humans.
Next, People who live near fracking areas have reported having symptoms. Multiple people who have had fracking sites near them have reported similar cases of these symptoms. Although some people will say that fracking allows people to reach more oil than ever, this is wrong for one reason. Fracking does allow people to get more gas than ever but this is a bad thing because since people have so much oil, gas prices will go down. Since gas prices will fall, the use of oil will go up causing even more greenhouse gases to pollute the earth.
