Should you be allowed to simply serve a prison sentence after committing a violent crime? Do you think death penalty should be used more often? I think it should be used more often because the murderers who committed the crime tend to not be punished harshly enough. Many people believe that killing another human being, regardless of whether or not they committed a crime, is considered wrong according to the bible. However, most just get sent to prison for a few years, get out, and could commit more crimes; they are free doing whatever they please after committing a crime. The second reason why i think it should be used more often is because some people don't commit serious crimes, and are still in prison for a longer time than murderers. Can the overcrowding of prisons be stopped? Prisons overcrowding is a growing concern in United States. Violent offenders made up 50 percent of males in the state prison population. Eighteen states and federal Bureau of prisons operated their prisons facilities at more than 100 percent capacity. Most people think it's better to kill one person than multiple and that's why death penalty should be used more often. Some people think the death penalty shouldn’t be used often because after criminals committed a crime then we are basically making a crime by saying prisoners get death penalty after committing a crime. They are given short sentences for violent crimes, and after a short sentence, they are released, free to pursue their violent obsessions.
