The Transgender Bathroom Law Needs to be Changed
Transgenders should not share a bathroom with the public. Transgender people are not the main issue in why they should or should not be able to use the opposite bathroom. Sexual harassment in the public bathrooms has been present since the law has changed. Transgender children and non-transgender children are being bullied because of this law change. Transgenders should not share a bathroom with the public for everyone’s safety. I think we should build a separate bathroom for transgender or undecided gender people. This would be a huge cost, but in the end, the safety of all the people is greater than what it will cost. Instead of the law being that we must let whichever gender come into the bathroom they want, instead, the law should be you should have a family or gender neutral bathroom.
Sexual harassment in the public restrooms is more reachable to perpetrators than before the law changed. You make it within hands reach to sexually harass the opposite gender in private, which should be a safe place. On more than one occasion has this happened. Allowing males into female bathrooms puts the safety of transgender and the safety of all people at risk. We need to take extra measures to make the public bathrooms safe for our friends and family members. The change in the law to let transgenders into both bathrooms does not help one bit. “The truth is that women and children who live in areas of the country where these ordinances and law exist can never be certain that they will not encounter men in restrooms, locker rooms, or changing rooms at department stores.” (Noland,
