Edgar Allan Poe and Ray Bradbury
Have you ever heard of Edgar Allan Poe or Ray Bradbury? Or any of their stories Tell Tale Heart or There will come soft rains? If you haven’t you will in this essay. This essay talks about these two authors and their writing styles. It talks about their similarities, and their differences. Edgar Allan Poe had a very bad childhood. Both his parents died in 1811, leaving him an Orphan. He was only two years old when his parents died, he was later adopted by a man named John Allan. Later in his life he attended The University of Virginia. However, he only attended college for one year, then he dropped out, spending all his tuition money on gambling. He then enlisted in the army under a fake name and age. By then he had published his first book Tamerlane and other Poems. One of his stories was first entered in a contest and it won. Soon his story The Raven was published and it became one of his most famous stories ever. Poe’s stories tend to have a darker vibe than Bradbury’s. With writing stories like The Raven and Tell Tale Heart, Poe definitely shows his readers the darker side of things. He also gets them to focus on the deeper meaning, and to see the hidden message.
