The Raven Essay Edgar Allan Poe was a writer, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. Edgar has written many of poems such as “Alone” “The Bells” “ The Raven” and of course many more. Edgar Allan Poe’s life was filled with tragedy. The people that he loved in his life died too early, his parents and his wife, Virginia. Disinherited by his adopted father, much of Poe’s life was spent in poverty. While his wife suffered from tuberculosis, Poe wrote “The Raven.” When “The Raven” was published, Poe felt success for the first time.
Edgar Allan Poe's evocative short stories and poems captured the imagination and interest of readers around the world. His imaginative storytelling led to literary innovations, earning him the nickname "Father of the Detective Story." Some aspects of his life, like his literature, is shrouded in mystery, and the lines between fact and fiction have been blurred substantially since his death. Edgar died in the hospital on Sunday, October 7, 1849. The mystery surrounding death has led to many myths and urban legends. Edgar works are also considered as the part of dark romanticism genre. Many of Poe’s poetry has been about murder, madmen, and also even about burials. His best written poem was “ The Raven”. “The Raven” is one of his favorite compositions in short stories. When “The Raven” was published, Poe felt success for the first time.
